✝ 요한 복음 10,22-30 (John 10:22-30)

그때에 예루살렘에서 봉헌절이 되었는데, 때는 겨울이었다. 예수님께서 성전 안에 있는 솔로몬 주랑을 거닐고 계셨다. 유다인들이 그분을 에워싸고 말하였다. “당신은 언제까지 우리 마음을 졸이게 할 작정이오? 당신이 메시아라면 분명히 말해 주시오.” 예수님께서 그들에게 대답하셨다. “내가 이미 말하였는데도 너희는 믿지 않는다. 내가 내 아버지 이름으로 하는 일들이 바로 나를 증언한다. 그러나 너희는 믿지 않는다. 너희가 내 양이 아니기 때문이다. 내 양들은 내 목소리를 알아듣는다. 나는 그들을 알고 그들은 나를 따른다. 나는 그들에게 영원한 생명을 준다. 그들은 영원히 멸망하지 않을 것이며, 아무도 그들을 내 손에서 빼앗지 못할 것이다. 그들을 나에게 주신 내 아버지는 모든 것보다 위대하시다. 그러므로 아무도 아버지의 손에서 그들을 빼앗을 수 없다. 나와 아버지는 하나다.”

 

English:

At that time, the feast of the Dedication took place in Jerusalem. It was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple area, in the Portico of Solomon. So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, “How long are you going to keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.” Jesus answered them, “I told you and you do not believe. The works I do in my Father's name testify to me. But you do not believe, because you are not among my sheep. My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish. No one can take them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can take them out of the Father's hand. The Father and I are one.”​

예수님께서는 당신을 메시아로 받아들이지 않는 유다인들에게 “내가 이미 말하였는데도 너희는 믿지 않는다”고 말씀하십니다. 이는 단순한 불신을 넘어서, 그들의 마음이 닫혀 있음을 드러냅니다. 예수님은 당신을 따르는 이들을 “내 양”이라 부르시며, 그들은 그분의 목소리를 알아듣고 따른다고 하십니다. 우리는 과연 주님의 음성을 듣고 따르고 있는지, 우리의 삶을 돌아보아야 합니다.​

Jesus addresses the disbelief of the Jews, emphasizing that despite his words and works, they do not believe because they are not among his sheep. He describes his followers as those who recognize his voice and follow him, assuring them of eternal life and security. This passage invites us to reflect on our own faith: Do we truly listen to the Shepherd's voice and follow his guidance in our daily lives?​
